The shipping container as metaphor is the subject of this
body of work. This anonymous cube is a powerful symbol of
today's global economy. As a standardized tool, it has
accelerated the delivery and broadened the distribution of
goods and culture. The shipping container has transformed
complex supply chains into a part of everyday commerce among
nations. This heightened connectivity between diverse
countries, largely made possible by the use of shipping
containers has promoted and lead to an overall
homogenization of cultures. This body of work visually
references this interconnectivity of our contemporary global
economy and the resulting homogenization. |
